Full notes you can style, file into folders, tag, pin, rename, search and bulk-manage — all saved locally in your browser.
Dense, jargon-heavy passages rewritten so the idea actually lands — ideal for textbooks and lecture slides.

Revise with active recall, spaced revision and exam-brainstorm modes — flipping cards until the concept sticks.
A learning path built from what the material actually covers, so you know exactly which topics to revise next.
An exam-focused analysis of your material: what is likely to be tested, what is high-yield and what to skip.
A floating helper with text-selection actions, per-note chat history and one-tap regeneration of any answer.

StudyMind AI has no backend, no database and no user accounts. The app is a set of static files, and everything that can be done on your device is done on your device.
Every dependency is vendored in the project itself, so the app runs without a single CDN request at runtime.

Yes. The application is free, with no ads, no subscriptions and no paywalls. The only optional cost is the AI provider usage you pay for directly with your own OpenRouter API key — and many free OpenRouter models are available if you would rather pay nothing.
No. PDFs are parsed inside your browser with pdf.js, so your files are never uploaded to a StudyMind server — because no such server exists. Your notes live in your browser’s IndexedDB and your API key in localStorage.
Only the text extracted from your PDF, and only when you trigger an AI action. It is sent directly from your browser to OpenRouter and authenticated with your own API key. StudyMind never receives, stores or logs it. The full details are in the privacy policy.
No account is ever required. You can read, organise and search documents without a key. To generate AI output, add your own OpenRouter API key — it is saved only in your browser’s localStorage and can be deleted at any time.
Yes. The app ships a lite mode that switches on automatically on slow connections, low-memory devices and low-core phones, trimming shadows, blur and animation work. The tool is a single static page with no build step and no CDN dependency, so it also loads quickly on a weak connection.
