Quantivelle™ is a trademark of Quantivelle.The “Quantivelle™” name and the Quantivelle logo — the logo image in the project’s Branding folder — are trademarks of Quantivelle. They are not covered by the Apache License 2.0.
Code license vs. brand
- Code is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 (see the License page).
- Brand — the “Quantivelle” name and logo — is not licensed under the Apache License 2.0.
The Apache License 2.0 explicitly does not grant permission to use trade names, trademarks, service marks, or product names of the Licensor (Section 6 of the License). This page sets out what is and is not permitted with respect to the Quantivelle brand.
In short: you are free to fork, study and modify the code; you are not free to ship it to users under the Quantivelle name or logo.
Rules for forks
- Forks must remove branding. Any fork or derivative work must remove all “Quantivelle” names, logos and brand assets from the user interface, documentation, repository name, package metadata and any other user-facing materials.
- Forks must rename the app. Any fork or derivative work must be distributed under a different name. You may not distribute a derivative work under the “Quantivelle” name.
Commercial use
Commercial use of the “Quantivelle” brand is banned.You may not use the “Quantivelle™” name or logo in connection with any commercial product, service, offering or revenue-generating activity without prior written permission from Quantivelle.
Permitted use
You may use the “Quantivelle” name and logo only to accurately refer to the original upstream project — for example in commentary, comparisons, changelogs or attribution — provided such use does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation by Quantivelle.
- OK: “Based on Quantivelle”, “a fork of Quantivelle” (with branding removed from the product itself), comparisons and reviews.
- Not OK: “Quantivelle Pro”, “Powered by Quantivelle” badges in a product, a repository or app named Quantivelle that you distribute, or any logo use in advertising a paid service.
